Lady Lions in clinic with CT Whale

On Saturday, February 27, the 2016 Connecticut Girls Hockey League (CGHL) U10 Jamboree teams: Shoreline Sharks Green and White (CT shoreline towns, including East Haven), Ice Cats (Darien), Greenwich Wings & Greenwich Panthers, West Hartford Wolves, Ridgefield Lady Lions, and Brewster Lady Bulldogs (Brewster, NY), plus players from the NWHL Connecticut Whale team, wore out Dunkin’ Donuts mascot Cuppy during a Skating Clinic held at Veterans Memorial Rink in East Hartford.

The National Women’s Hockey League Team, The CT Whale teamed up with Dunkin’ Donuts on Saturday, February 27 to host a girl’s youth hockey clinic at the Veteran’s Memorial Rink in East Haven.

The 10U Ridgefield Lady Lions were among the 110 players who participated. They got autographs and photos with players from the CT Whale and the Dunkin’ Donuts Mascot, Cuppy, before taking to the ice to practice Skating, shooting, and skills drills.

Dunkin’ Donuts is a corporate sponsor of the National Women’s Hockey League and the Dunkin’ Donuts Baskin Robins Community Foundation is dedicated to well being of children in their community. Sports is an excellent outlet for children to learn life skills and empowerment.

The CT Whale is competing in the inaugural season of the National Women’s Hockey League. They will play the Brewster Beauts in the Isobel Cup Playoffs Semifinals at Chelsea Pier, March 4-March 6. Tickets can be purchased at nwhl.co
