We at the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra are looking forward to sharing three musical treasures, three incredible concerts, with the Ridgefield community in winter and spring 2016.
The RSO opens 2016 on Feb. 13, at Ridgefield High School Auditorium, with Redemption Through Love. Featuring works by Wagner and Schumann as well as Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, the orchestra performs under the baton of returning guest conductor Petko Dimitrov. A trio of works with the theme of love on Valentine’s Day weekend!
Classical Contemporaries, the RSO’s March 5, performance at Wilton’s Clune Auditorium, showcases symphonies of Mozart and Haydn – colleagues, friends and titans of the classical era. Along with Mozart’s Symphony No. 35 “Haffner” and Haydn’s Symphony No. 67, the RSO will feature RSO Principal Hornist Sara Della Posta and friend Robert Hoyle in Telemann’s Concert for Two Horns.
The RSO returns to Ridgefield High School for their 2015-16 Season ending performances on May 14 with First And Last. Mahler’s First Symphony, the fervent, dramatic outpourings of a young romantic artist is paired with Richard Strauss’ autumnal, impossibly beautiful Four Last Songs, his valedictory work as a composer.
A trio, a trifecta, a triptych of incredible concerts, in unparalleled performances by your RSO under the direction of Music Director Jerry Steichen. And you can enjoy all three concerts by subscribing for one amazing low price, as low as $19 per concert!
Tickets and more information for the RSO’s Winter/Spring 2016 performances are available online at the orchestra’s website, RidgefieldSymphony.org; RSO box office 203-438-3889 today.
