Sign up today for dance classes at the Ridgefield Recreation Center. The MacDonald-Pin Dancers offers tap and ballet classes for adults. Children in preschool through first grade will explore the wonderful world of dance in our ballet and ballet/tap classes. There are core classes for students in kindergarten through 12th grade, including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz/hip-hop, and lyrical. Performance Team is also available for students in sixth through 12th grade who take three or more dance classes a week. Both adult and youth programs culminate with an exciting recital on June 4 and 5 at Ridgefield High School.
You can become a certified swim instructor in just eight days, and if you pass, you can apply to work at Ridgefield Parks & Recreation. The water safety instructor course is for students ages 16 and older. This American Red Cross certification course meets from March 1 to April 26. Classes are held on Tuesdays from 5:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. at Barlow Mountain pool. There is a physical pre-course skills test that takes place in the pool and must be passed in order to take the course. The test is on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 1 p.m. at the Recreation Center pool. Please visit us online for a list of skills required to enroll. For more information, visit ridgefieldparksandrec.org or call 203-431-2755.
