When singers Paul Spencer Adkins and Ira Spaulding appear at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, at the First Congregational Church, it will be a matter of “something new, something old” for the Fountain Music Series. This has nothing to do with the singers’ ages but is simply that Mr. Spaulding will be making his first Ridgefield appearance while Mr. Adkins will be here for the fourth time, most recently as one of the three tenors, the highly cheered recital of three years ago.
The mostly American program is heavy on spirituals but will also feature several duets by the American composer Ovid Young.
A highlight of the program has been the piano accompaniments of Edwin R. Taylor, minister of music at First Congregational. Taylor will be at the piano again for this program.
