Alice Paul Day in the Town Hall this morning featured a talk by Josette Williams, a former selectman and historian who knew suffragist Paul, a Ridgefielder for many years. Williams told the story of how Paul, author of the ERA, was personally instrumental in her own life.
The day’s activities also included a talk by First Selectman Rudy Marconi who touched upon Paul’s legacy and gave attendees an informal state of the town address.
The sixth annual Alice Paul Day was sponsored by the League of Women Voters and is the beginning of a series of events on women’s contributions as part of Women’s History Month in March.
