The Ridgefield Rotary Club held an Amber Alert registration
at the Ridgefield Boys & Girls Club during its Breakfast with Santa
event. More than 100 children had their photos and information entered into the encrypted Amber Alert national database that is accessed only by state police in cases of emergencies.
The sponsor was the Gloria Gray Foundation, which provided
a grant for the event.
Amber Alert registrations are part of the service projects the
Ridgefield Rotary Club has performed for Ridgefield and surrounding
communities since 1941 to meet its motto: Service Above Self.
