St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church has set its annual Candlelight Blue Christmas service for Sunday, Dec. 13, at 5 p.m., a new day and earlier time from previous years.
The service of prayers and meditations is intended as an opportunity to find peace and comfort during the often-hectic Christmas holiday season.
“When the calendar says that the joy of anticipation should fill our hearts, our grief and sadness can be magnified,” said the Rev. Whitney Altopp, rector of St. Stephen’s. “This service allows us to honor those losses and provides a means for God to soothe our pain.”
