RMAC, Ridgefield’s outlet for artistic youth, has a major event on the horizon, and is looking for audiences and performers.

On Feb. 20, RMAC’s annual Band Bash, where six local teenage groups will compete in a classic battle of the bands, will take place. Submissions are due Jan. 9 and may be emailed to jacquelineduke@gmail.com.

All bands must submit one song to be judged, and all members of the band must be part of the submission. Everyone in each band should be between grades seven and 12.

“It’s going to be a very competitive night with some good music,” said Lauren Chakraborty, an organizer of the event.

She went on to say, “It’s not just about the competition, it’s a chance to meet people who share the same passion for music. It’s not often that you see this many of our peers come together as performers, organizers, and backstage crew to make an event like this successful.”

Auditions representing all musical genres are encouraged, and people from all towns are welcome. For details and information about other events, check RMAC’s Facebook page online or the website, rmacct.org.
