A plane crash in North Salem, N.Y. appears to have claimed the life of a Ridgefielder’s father and his stepmother.

The Journal News is reporting that authorities believe two people were killed in the plane crash.

Eric Horsa of Ridgefield said his father, Val Horsa of South Salem, was flying the plane with his stepmother, Taew Horsa.

The plane crashed after it lost radar contact with the Danbury airport while flying from Mississippi.

Police have found at least one seat and wheels from a small plane in the reservoir.

Police have been searching the reservoir since yesterday afternoon when the plane that was bound for the Danbury Airport in Connecticut lost contact with the airport.

The missing plane is believed to be a four-seater Beechcraft Bonanza.

Members from local police stations have been aiding in the search along with the state police and officers from the New York City Department of Environmental Protection.
