Two Ridgefielders — Amy Russell and Dr. Darla shaw — are featured on a billboard advertising campaign for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Two Ridgefield women can now be seen on Connecticut billboards advertising the Walk to end Alzheimer’s.
Amy Russell and Dr. Darla Shaw are on the billboards on I-95 and I-84.
Each women has been designated as a champion for Alzheimer’s. Russell is a well know jewelry designer who has designed and donated her jewelry to the Alzheimer’s cause. Shaw, along with Scott Russell, started the nation’s only Alzheimer’s awareness program for children. The program has been in existence for four years.
The purpose of the billboards is to announce the six major Alzheimer’s walks that will be taking part in Sept. and Oct. across the state. The billboards can be seen in Norwalk, Stratford, New Haven and around the Hartford area.
This Week Ridgefield is Painting the Town Purple, an effort to raise awareness for the deadly disease.
