Linda Joan Dalles, 62, of Ridgefield died of lung cancer on Aug. 12 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford.
Ms. Dalles was born in Queens, N.Y., to the late John and Evelyn Dalles on Aug. 3, 1953. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1971 and worked for nearly 30 years as an executive assistant for various companies. For the past four years she worked as a home care companion for the elderly.
Ms. Dalles is survived by her sister Colleen Dalles Swain and her brother-in-law Ken Swain of Sandy Hook, and by her niece and nephew, MorganEve Swain of Warren, R.I., and Spencer Dalles Swain of Portland, Maine.
As Ms. Dalles requested, there will be no memorial service. Her final resting place will be with her parents at Pinecrest Cemetery in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
“The Swain family is so grateful to Dr. Nair and his medical team at Norwalk Hospital and to the doctors, nurses, caretakers and volunteers at the Connecticut Hospice,” her family said. “The superior levels of care, compassion and support Linda experienced from these dedicated professionals helped her find peace during her final days.”
To honor Ms. Dalles and the thousands of lives lost to cancer in Connecticut, the families asks that donations be made to Whittingham Cancer Center, Norwalk Hospital, 24 Stevens Street, Norwalk, CT 06856; or to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
