Can you help?

Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association (RVNA) volunteers are the backbone of our organization. More than 300 people serve in a wide range of capacities, giving of their time, talent and energy. The RVNA is always looking to recruit new people who have a passion for helping others, or for lending their skills to an organization like ours. Can you help? Our volunteers provide much needed support in many areas. They work at flu, blood pressure and well child clinics, provide office and clerical assistance, are involved in organizing our annual Community Health and Wellness Fair, offer Reiki and massage therapy, provide assistance with our community education programs and serve on our board of directors and committees.

In addition, the RVNA is gearing up its Friendly Visitor program to train additional volunteers to visit RVNA patients, Quality Living at Home members (our aging in place program), and clients using our Lifeline medical alert services who request a visit from a friendly and caring volunteer. A Friendly Visitor makes an initial visit with the RVNA director of community health and wellness, and then with a request from the patient or client, a subsequent visit can be scheduled. If you are missing your favorite out-of-town uncle, or your mother or grandmother lives miles away, perhaps this is a way you can connect with a senior who might benefit greatly from your friendship and attention. There are many other volunteer opportunities available at the RVNA if you are interested in exploring more. For information, visit our website, ridgefieldvna.org, or call 203-438-5555.
