Award winning Irish author Anne Enright will come to the Community Center at Lounsbury House in Ridgefield on Monday, May 11, at 7 p.m. to discuss her new novel, The Green Road.
Publishers Weekly said of The Green Road, “This novel is a vibrant family portrait, both pitiless and compassionate, witty and stark, of simple people living quiet lives of anguish, sometimes redeemed by moments of grace.”
Enright was born in Dublin, where she now lives and works. She has published three volumes of stories, one book of nonfiction, and five novels. In 2015, she was named the inaugural Laureate for Irish Fiction. Her novel The Gathering won the Man Booker Prize, and her novel The Forgotten Waltz won the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction.
The program is co-sponsored by the Ridgefield Library, Books on the Common and Lounsbury House and will take place at Lounsbury House, 316 Main Street. Copies of The Green Road will be available for sale and signing at the event.
