The Ridgefield Library will present several programs to help people improve their financial well-being during Money Smart Week. The first program will be a webinar called The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People, which will take place on Wednesday, April 22, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Christine Benz, director of personal finance, and Adam Zoll, assistant editor of Morningstar.com, will lead the webinar and help those taking part make informed investing decisions at any age or level of investing. On Thursday, April 30, at 4 p.m., there will be another session on the library‘s Morningstar resource that will take place in the Donofrio Technology Center. This will be an information session followed by some hands-on time to practice and explore this powerful financial tool.
On Wednesday, April 29, at 7 p.m., the library along with the Lions Club, will present a program called Identity Theft Boot Camp — How Not to Become a Victim. The program will feature Don McGran, a 30-year veteran of the Ridgefield Police Department who retired in 2011 at the rank of major, who will discuss frauds, scams, identity theft prevention, safe banking procedures, and more. He will be joined by Detective Tom Dardis from the Ridgefield Police Department.
