Ann “Rocky” Leslie Rotherforth Roy, 79, of Jupiter, Fla., died on April 12 after what her family said was a long, hard-fought battle with heart disease.
Ms. Roy graduated from Ridgefield High School with the Class of 1953, afterward working in the Ridgefield area as a visiting nurse, in landscaping, and in many other professions. She served in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department before moving to Jupiter with her husband in 1996.
She is survived by her husband of more than 33 years, Ian (Ike) Roy, who “had been constantly at her side throughout her long fight,” her family said. She is also survived by her two sons, Edward and James Reeves; two stepsons, Kenneth and Kevin Roy; several step-grandchildren; and her sister, Jeanne Schutt.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, at 11 at her community clubhouse in Fisherman’s Landing, Jupiter, Fla. Donations in Ms. Roy’s memory may be made to the animal shelter/rescue of one’s choice.
