7:45 a.m. — Ridgefield schools will be dismissed early, with the latest wave of schools, Barlow Mountain, Farmingville and Veterans Park, getting out by 12:15. Several other districts including Wilton have made the same call.

The National Weather Service shaved an inch off its forecast for daytime snowfall totals in Ridgefield. Now the service predicts one to three inches during the day and an inch or two more Friday night.

Original story — A little more snow may hit Ridgefield on Friday, the start of spring, the National Weather Service reports.

Snow could start Friday afternoon and pile up to two to four inches, possibly making for a messy evening commute. Wind chill is expected to be 10 to 20 degrees.

Another inch or two could fall Friday night.

A winter weather advisory for a region that includes Ridgefield starts at 6 a.m. Friday and continues until 2 a.m. Saturday.

The rest of the weekend forecast looks clear.

Friday around 6:45 p.m. is the vernal equinox, according to Almanac.com. The Old Farmer’s Almanac also reports there will be a super moon and a total solar eclipse that won’t be visible from Ridgefield.
