Ridgefield native Michelle David will be traveling during Stonehill College’s spring break as apart of its HOPE Service Immersion Program. The West Virginia HOPE trip is focused on the issues of sustainability, environmental justice, poverty, and elder care.
Sarah Heinzmann, a freshman at Rider University, was on the fall dean’s list. She was also invited to join the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society for freshmen in the top 20% of their class. She is pursuing a bachelor of fine arts degree in musical theater at Rider.
Emily Kenney of Ridgefield, majoring in safety and occupational health science at Keene State College, participated in a community service trip to the Dominican Republic. On this trip she worked to produce and distribute ceramic water filters that are affordable and 99.9% effective for families in need. The team also visited local communities and determined the filters’ impact on health and wellness, and where new filters would be most needed.
Four Ridgefield residents have recently been named to the dean’s list at Boston University for the fall semester: Colleen Keating, Joliette M. Mandel, Caitlin M. Serpico, and Xinghao Wang.
Melissa Furman of Ridgefield earned a bachelor of business administration, business: Real ECT and urban land economics degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison at the winter commencement ceremony, held in December 2014 at the Kohl Center.
Jessica R. Petty of Ridgefield was named to the fall 2014 dean’s list at Samford University. Ms. Petty is a junior early childhood education/early childhood special education/elementary education/elementary collaborative major.
