Eileen Regina Sheridan, age 59, long-time resident of Ridgefield, died Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Danbury Hospital.
Ms. Sheridan was born in Yonkers, NY on March 9, 1955, daughter of the late Philip H. and Kathleen (Cramer) Sheridan. She graduated from Glen Rock High School in New Jersey in 1973.
Eileen lived in Ridgefield for 32 years. She was a familiar smiling face and friend to everyone while working at Caldor Department Store, CVS Pharmacy, and Kohl’s. Eileen knew and enjoyed all of the customers who came to know her over the years. She especially enjoyed the children with whom she shared stories and adventures.
Eileen was a devoted volunteer and active member of St. Mary Parish and served as a Eucharistic Minister, bringing Communion to the sick, elderly and homebound.
Eileen was an avid Yankee fan. She could quote from memory statistics for every game and the name of each player on her beloved Yankee team.
She will be remembered for her generous heart, empathy, sense of humor, love of children and devotion to family.
Eileen is survived by eight siblings and their spouses: Kathleen and Martin Stricks of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY; Susan and Tom Reynolds of Ridgefield; Philip and Kyoung Suk Sheridan of DuPont, WA; Maureen and Ward Michaelsen of West Milford, NJ; Patrick and Lynn Sheridan of Bethel, CT; Elizabeth White of Ridgefield; Peter and Laura Sheridan of Pocatella, ID; Michael and Patricia Sheridan of Yorktown, NY, as well as her cousins James and Madeline MacKenzie of Queens, NY. Eileen was predeceased by her beloved brother-in-law, Michael White.
“Aunt Eileen” will also be remembered fondly by sixteen nieces and nephews and eight grand nieces and nephews, for whom she always made time for stories and playtime. She enjoyed them all immensely. The children will always have a special place in their hearts for Aunt Eileen. Eileen’s last visit with the children was filled with Star Wars Lego Battle and “easy-peezy” poker.
