Two Ridgefield men were arrested Monday after police responded to a burglar alarm and one took off, leading to a brief search.

Henry Gough, 18, of High Pastures Road and Thomas Redmond, 18, of Chestnut Hill Road were arrested for conspiracy to commit burglary in the third degree and for interfering with the duties of a police officer Monday on Chestnut Hill Road at 8:51 p.m.

Officers responded to a residential burglar alarm at a residence on Chesnut Hill Road where a window had been broken and entry was made, Police Capt. Jeff Kreitz said in a press release.

He added that the department is still investigating to determine if anything was taken from the house.

According to the release, the first officer approached the location and noticed two men on foot entering the road. The officer stopped his car to speak with the suspects, when Mr. Redmond fled on a skateboard. A state police K-9 unit from Southbury helped in the search for Mr. Redmond, who was found at his home.

The officer questioned Mr. Gough and then made the arrest.

Mr. Gough and Mr. Redmond were held on $25,000 bonds and were scheduled to be arraigned at Danbury Superior Court Tuesday morning.
