Young people from Ridgefield participated in the annual service trip to the H.O.M.E. mission in Orland, Maine — a week-long commitment — earlier this summer. This outreach ministry of the First Congregational Church is in its 25th year. The group consisted of 84 high school students and 35 adult and young adult leaders. Besides the roofing work, other projects included re-siding and painting several buildings on the H.O.M.E. campus and starting to reconstruct the sawmill, which collapsed under snow last winter.
