Class teaches real estate principles, practices

Real Estate Principles and Practices starts Sept. 29, through Ridgefield Continuing Education.

This 60-hour course meets the minimum requirements as set forth by the Connecticut Real Estate Commission and Department of Consumer Protection for application to take the sales associate or broker exam.

Instruction is led by Terry Hastings, who has taught Real Estate Principles and Practices in Ridgefield for more than 10 years. Mr. Hastings is with Total Mortgage Services, LLC.

In 2014 he received the Five Star Mortgage Professional Award from Connecticut Magazine. He was previously with Hamilton Ladd Home Loans and has more than 20 years’ prior experience in real estate sales and management with Weichert, Realtors and Prudential, Fitzgerald & Hastings. Additional licensed brokers including Rob Gutman, Lonnie Shapiro, Jack Baldaserini, and Ray Hastings also teach some sessions.

This class meets at the Venus Municipal Building on Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 29, through Dec. 10, plus Tuesday, Dec. 9 (no class Oct. 13 and Nov. 26), from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Weather make-ups, if necessary, would be on the Thursday following the missed day.
