Since 1994, the Ridgebury Garden Club has brought complimentary flower therapy to the residents and patients at Laurel Ridge Health Care Center. The club runs year-round programs at Laurel Ridge on the first Wednesday of each month that include hands-on experiences with gardening, flower arranging, and crafts. The club’s annual flower show takes place in July, and is currently on display in the lobby at Laurel Ridge, with a cornucopia of annual and perennial flowers, herbs, flowering trees, shrubs, and wild and exotic flowers, all grown locally by club members. Pictured here are members Arlene Peet, Ruth Abrahamson, Barbara Bell and Tammy Conley. Not pictured is Peggy Fedun. Those interested in bringing an activity to or volunteering at Laurel Ridge may contact Thora Perkins, director of therapeutic recreation, at 203-438-8226. Ms. Conley of the The Ridgebury Garden Club may be reached at 203-778-2411.
