A. Briggs Geddis, 76, longtime resident of Ridgefield, CT, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2014 at his home after a year-long courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Morristown, N.J. the second of four children to Florence and Joseph Geddis on April, 27th 1938.
After earning a degree in biology at Atlantic Union College, he worked in cancer research at the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology on Shrewsberry, Mass. He subsequently taught biology and science at The King School in Stamford, CT and Valhalla High School in Valhalla, N.Y.
For the past 38 years he has worked for the town of New Canaan, CT, as the Director of Environmental Health.
He is survived by his wife, Kristin; his daughters, Gabrielle Griffin and Abigail Brower; and son, Briggs; seven grandchildren; his brother Robert; and two sisters, Jayne Molleck and Joyce Burnette.
