Police identified the infant boy who died in a hot car Monday.
Benjamin Seitz, born March 28, 2013, “was supposed to be dropped off at a daycare facility in Ridgefield by his father. The father did not drop off his son. The father, with Benjamin still in the vehicle, went to 38A Grove St. Ridgefield, Ct where he is employed,” wrote Police Capt. Jeff Kreitz.
“At the time of this release the cause of death is still listed as pending at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME).”
Grove Street is in the village, not far from fire headquarters, but there was reportedly no 911 call made.
Police previously reported that the father found his son in his car and drove to Danbury Hospital. Police were notified about the death around 6 p.m. Monday by Danbury Hospital staff.
