Larry Hiscavich, 82, of Ridgefield, died on Tuesday, May 13 in Bronxville, NY. He is survived by daughter Michelle Hiscavich, son Larry Kret and four grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his wife Rose Marie, son Christopher, parents, and brother John Sullivan.
Larry was born in Haledon, NJ on March 31, 1932, son of Helen and Michael Hiscavich. He attended school in Paterson, NJ and graduated from Suffern High School, NY. He worked at Avon in Suffern before joining the U.S. Air Force. The USAF sent him to Russian Language School at Syracuse University before serving in Korea. After returning home, he continued to work for Avon for 36 years, enjoying the world travel associated with his job. Becoming bored with retirement he went to work at Boehringer-Ingleheim in Danbury.
A resident of Ridgefield since 1969, Larry was a devoted husband and father who contributed his time supporting his children in Ridgefield Little League and the Ridgefield Youth Orchestra. He enjoyed the outdoors and camping with his family as well as hiking, fishing and hunting with friends.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. at Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah Street in Ridgefield. A prayer service will take place at 12:00. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ridgefield at a later date.
