Ridgefield resident Alice McMahon will perform in Square One’s production of the comedy Olive and the Bitter Herbs.

A Ridgefield resident will perform in a comedy in Stratford, opening Friday, May 16.

Square One Theatre’s final production of its 24th anniversary season is the comedy Olive and the Bitter Herbs by the Tony-nominated playwright Charles Busch. The play is described by the Associated Press as “a colorful, sweet-and-sour dish, laced with plenty of laughs” and by the New York Times as “acidly funny!” The director is Tom Holehan.

Square One Theatre is at 2422 Main Street, Stratford.

Ridgefield resident Alice McMahon will perform as Olive. She has been in a number of Square One productions.

Olive and the Bitter Herbs runs Fridays and Saturdays, May 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31, at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, May 18 and 25, at 2 p.m. There also will be a twilight matinee on Saturday, May 31, at 4.
