With Mother’s Day near and the end of the school year on the horizon, Downtown Ridgefield says it has the perfect gift.
Downtown Ridgefield gift vouchers are on sale and may be purchased at Fairfield County Bank with cash or check from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week and from 9 to noon on Saturdays.
Part of the appeal is that the certificates may be redeemed at more than one store, which can help cast a wider net in ensuring a wanted gift. It can also help protect consumers against the possibility of a business closing its doors before a gift certificate is redeemed.
The certificates may be redeemed at more than 50 locations in the downtown area.
“There’s a big variety of stores,” said Kathy Graham of Fairfield County Bank. “The voucher can be used at any of our great retail stores, and it can also be used at downtown restaurants and other locations, such as the Playhouse.
“Some people are difficult to buy for, and this makes it nice and easy,” she added.
The gifts purchased with a certificate can be as diverse as a box of chocolates from Deborah Ann’s to a hammer from Ridgefield Supply to a haircut at Shine Salon.
Restaurants include Ancient Mariner, Bissell House, Chez Lenard, Fifty Coins, Luc’s Cafe, Planet Pizza, Tazza Cafe, and West Lane Inn.
Some of the non-retail locations are Georgetown Auto Body, Mulvaney Plumbing and Heating, the Boys & Girls Club, and the Prospector Theater.
Chamber certificates
The Chamber of Commerce has its own gift certificate program.
Vouchers may be purchased at the Chamber’s office Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and at businesses that are Chamber members.
Some businesses participate in both programs.
