Ridgefield potter Peggy Thomas is among the local artists featured in the first annual Artisans Show on Saturday, April 26, at the Keeler Tavern Museum.
“Whether a bowl, a plate, a mug, a vase, or a smiling egg separator, each is glazed with the intent of capturing a fragment of nature’s imaginative palette,” Ms. Thomas said. The happy-faced egg separators wearing winning grins are not only endearing, they actually separate eggs!”
The show will be presented in partnership with VS Shows Promotions of 45 Wilton Road East, which organizes events, specializing in antiques and artisan shows in Fairfield County and Westchester County, N.Y.
Keeler Tavern President Joel Third said, “We are excited to partner with VS Shows in hosting such an outstanding group of artisans and artists from all over the region at the Keeler Tavern Museum, one of Connecticut’s premier historic sites. This is a unique opportunity to position our beautiful campus and the town of Ridgefield as an attraction with broad appeal way beyond town borders.”
As part of the Artisans Show, a multimedia exhibit titled Expressions: Spring, curated by Captiva Arts of Ridgefield, will be staged in the Cass Gilbert Carriage Barn and continue through Thursday, May 1.
Saturday show hours are 10 to 5 with an $8 admission fee. A wine-and-cheese preview party on Friday evening, April 25, will offer early purchasing from 6 to 9 as well as opportunities to engage with artisans and artists — admission is $40 ($30 for museum members). Proceeds from ticket sales on both days benefit the Keeler Tavern Museum, a nonprofit historical site that is entirely self-funded.
Free off-premises parking is available nearby. To make preview party reservations, and for directions or other information, visit keelertavernmuseum.org or call 203-438-5485. The Keeler Tavern Museum is located at 132 Main Street.
