The Ridgefield Playhouse recently received a grant of $5,507 from the Connecticut Arts Endowment Fund, managed by the Department of Economic and Community Development, which will be used for general operating support.

“This Connecticut Arts Endowment Fund grant helps us offset the many expenses associated with running a not-for-profit performing arts center,” said Allison Stockel, executive director of the Ridgefield Playhouse. Each year the playhouse hosts upward of 120 programs, she said. “Through our community outreach programs, seniors, students and those who would not be able to experience the power of live entertainment and film can enjoy what the Playhouse has to offer, thanks to the generosity of grantors such as the Connecticut Arts Endowment Fund.”

With programs such as Arts for Everyone, Arts in Education and the Gold Card, the Playhouse offers thousands of free tickets to more than 25 other nonprofit organizations, families, Title I schools, and Ridgefield seniors each year, making the arts accessible to those who otherwise would not be able to benefit from the enriching experience of theater and live music.

For more information, visit ridgefieldplayhouse.org or call the box office at 203-438-5795. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield; ridgefieldplayhouse org.
