Woodcock Nature Center is planning a Spring Celebration and Egg Hunt for families on Saturday, April 12, and Spring Break Adventures for kids every day April 14-18.

Participants in the spring celebration will take a hayride down the quarter-mile driveway to the trails to go on an egg-hunting hike. Next, participants may meander over to the scenic pavilion to color collected eggs, whip up some seasonal nature-crafts to celebrate the arrival of spring, and visit the resident animals in the Nature Center.

It is recommended for ages 2 to 7, but all are welcome. Bring a basket to hold eggs.

Refreshments will be available for purchase. Reservations and prepayment are required and non-refundable: $12 per child for members; $15 per child for non-members. Families will need to sign up for an arrival time slot: 12-12:30; 12:45-1:15; 1:30-2; 2:15-2:45 and 3-3:30.

Rain date for Spring Celebration and Egg Hunt is Sunday, April 13.

Spring break

Spring Break Adventures is a week of fun and exploration for children aged 3 through 8 years. Adventurers will learn all about the world around them through hands-on activities, animal presentations, hikes, and crafts. Each day will focus on a nature-related topic, and is taught by professional naturalists/educators.

It is offered every day from 9 to noon during the week schools are off, April 14-18. Programs are available for ages 3 years, 4 to 5 years and 6 to 8 years. Register for daily sessions or the full week (non-refundable). Non-members: $40 per day or $200 full week; members: $35 per day or $175 full week.

Contact the office at Woodcock Nature Center at 203-762-7280 to register. For more information about this and upcoming programs at Woodcock Nature Center, visit woodcocknaturecenter.org.
