Joe Edley, three-time National Scrabble Champion and the author of the guide Everything Scrabble and numerous other books, will be at the Ridgefield Library on Saturday, March 29 at 11 a.m., to share advice on how to become a better player.
This program will be aimed at beginning and intermediate players of all ages, but is mostly aimed at teens and adults. Mr. Edley will give a comprehensive introduction to tournament Scrabble, discuss how to save the right tiles, how to find 50-point bonus plays using all your tiles and methods for learning new words. He will include tidbits from tournament and club Scrabble history.
Mr. Edley has taught at the Chautauqua Institution for more than a decade. He also teaches a class at the 92nd St. Y in New York City.
The program is free, but registration is recommended at ridgefieldlibrary.org or by calling 203-438-2282.
