Clay artist Peggy Thomas of Ridgefield is showing two pieces from her Nature Series at the Greenwich Art Society’s 97th annual juried exhibition, which runs through Friday, March 28, in the Bendheim Gallery at the Greenwich Arts Center, 299 Greenwich Avenue.

The show was curated by Cara Manes, assistant curator and collection specialist in the department of painting and sculpture of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Of the 300 works submitted in a broad range of media, 85 were accepted.

Discussing her faux bark Nature Series, Ms. Thomas said she brings clay full circle. “Raw clay, which originates in nature, is worked, shaped and finished to reflect and capture the textures, rhythms and shapes of what is found in the natural environment from which the clay emerged.”
