The Ridgefield Library will present the next installment in the Write It! series, an ongoing series of writing workshops and talks, on Thursday, March 6, at 7 p.m.

Dr. Michael White will present From Idea to Book, discussing how his novel Soul Catcher went from an “idea on a mountaintop in Colorado” to a published book.  He will discuss the research and the methods used to write and revise the novel, including major changes in the first and last chapters.

Copies of his books will be available for sale and signing after the discussion.

Mr. White is the author of six novels: Soul Catcher, A Brother’s Blood, The Blind Side of the Heart, A Dream of Wolves, The Garden of Martyrs, and Beautiful Assassin. His work was twice a finalist for the Connecticut Book Award for Fiction, and his sixth novel, Beautiful Assassin, won the 2011 Connecticut Book Award. He has published 50 stories in national and literary magazines, and was the founding editor of the American Fiction series. He currently teaches at Fairfield University, and is the fiction editor of the journal Dogwood.

The Write It! series is sponsored by Friends of the Ridgefield Library. Registration is recommended at ridgefieldlibrary.org or by calling 203-438-2282.
